SEVENTEEN's Joshua to Speak at UNESCO Paris Headquarters

SEVENTEEN's Joshua is heading back to the UNESCO podium. The singer will represent his group at a ceremony at UNESCO headquarters in Paris on June 25, local time, in his role as a UNESCO youth goodwill ambassador.

The event, titled "UNESCO x SEVENTEEN: Celebrating Youth, Creativity and Well-Being Together," was announced on November 16 by Pledis Entertainment, the SEVENTEEN label under HYBE Music Group. It marks the global youth program that SEVENTEEN and UNESCO have built together, called "Going Together - For Youth Creativity & Well-Being."

Joshua will take the stage on behalf of the group to send a message of support to young people around the world. UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany is also set to attend. The ceremony will stream live on UNESCO's official YouTube channel.

The partnership traces back to 2024, when SEVENTEEN was named a UNESCO youth goodwill ambassador and donated $1 million to launch the Global Youth Grant Scheme. The fund has supported projects that use music, art, and sports to build confidence and resilience among young people, develop creative youth communities, and improve youth mental health.

SEVENTEEN added to that effort last year on International Youth Day, donating proceeds from the "JOOPITER presents: sacai x SEVENTEEN" charity auction. That money is being used to provide deeper support to 10 standout teams selected from the 100 youth groups taking part in "Going Together."

The group's history with UNESCO stretches back further. In November 2023, SEVENTEEN was invited to the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum at the Paris headquarters, where they became the first K-pop artists to lead a special session. The following June, they were appointed UNESCO's first-ever youth goodwill ambassadors, a recognition of their reach in the global youth space.
