Backless Summer: How Soyou, HWASA and Han So-hee Are Owning the Season

As the summer heat drags on in South Korea, stars are dressing bolder to match it. Backless looks in particular are becoming one of the season's defining style choices. Singers Soyou and HWASA, along with actor Han So-hee, recently shared photos on their personal social media accounts showing three very different takes on the trend.

Soyou posted photos from a trip to France wearing a white backless dress. The design plunged down to the waist, showing off a clean back line, while a halter-neck strap held the silhouette in place for a look that felt breezy and daring at the same time. The former SISTAR member has previously said she lost about 20 kilograms, or roughly 44 pounds, which made the bold choice stand out even more.

Han So-hee was also in France, where she shared a backless bikini look. She layered it with a thin black cardigan and sunglasses for a sharper, cooler mood.

HWASA went in a more relaxed direction. She paired a white backless tank with blue jeans for an easy, healthy-looking style. There was no heavy skin reveal, but the toned back muscles showing with every movement drew plenty of attention. She recently said on a YouTube channel that she had lost five kilograms, or about 11 pounds, and the sharper frame is getting a strong reaction from fans.

Three stars, three very different vibes. Together, they show how backless styling has grown into one of the most flexible looks of the Korean summer, working just as well on a Paris trip as it does with a pair of jeans at home.
