ASTRO's MJ Plays Dual Roles in 'Right..?' Trailer

ASTRO's MJ is stepping out on his own for the first time in 10 years. The singer unveiled the full concept trailer for his debut solo single, "Right..?," on his official YouTube channel on the 6th, playing two roles in a clip modeled after a Korean dating variety show.

In the video, MJ enters a "Solo House" set, a nod to the reality dating programs that have become a staple of Korean television. He appears both as a contestant using his real name, Myungjun, and as the MC watching that contestant from the other side of the screen. An earlier preview had already hinted at the character's romantic clumsiness, with Myungjun talking through his ideal type and last relationship.

Once inside the house, Myungjun sings to show off his charm. He then breaks down how often his match has smiled and how many times their eyes have met, before landing on a confident read: "She's definitely interested in me." He asks her out on a date directly.

The confidence does not pay off. Myungjun never hears her answer and ends up eating a "lonely meal" by himself, a common gag in Korean dating shows for contestants left without a partner. He also skips the final selection round. The trailer closes on the MC and Myungjun taking turns looking into the camera and asking, "Is this right?" — a line that ties directly back to the single's title.

MJ had already given fans an early taste of the new music before the trailer dropped. At his first solo fan meeting, "The Hangout," held on the 1st, he performed the unreleased song live. It marked his first solo fan meeting in the 10 years since his debut, and he used the stage to signal the coming comeback.

"Right..?" is MJ's first solo single. It drops Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. KST across major music platforms.
