E SENS Goes on Trial Over Alleged Indecent Assault at Itaewon Club
Korean rapper E SENS is set to stand trial on charges of indecent assault. The Seoul Southern District Court's Criminal Division 12 will hold the first hearing on Wednesday.
E SENS is accused of assaulting a woman, identified only as A, whom he met at a club in Seoul's Itaewon neighborhood in August 2025. According to reports, A alleged that he pressed his body against her from behind and tried to kiss her after she had made it clear she did not wat any physical contact.
In June, the court issued a summary order fining E SENS 5 million won. A summary order allows a court to impose a fine through a written review without holding a full trial. E SENS challenged the order and requested a formal trial.
The rapper has denied the charge. "Any physical contact took place with mutual consent," he said. "There was no force, violence or threat, and I never attempted any improper contact against the other person's will."
E SENS said he would cooperate with the proceedings and seek to establish the facts in court.
E SENS made his official debut in 2009 as a member of the hip-hop duo Supreme Team alongside Simon Dominic. The duo released songs including "Then Then Then" ("Geuttaen Geuttaen Geuttaen") and "Dang Dang Dang." ("Ttaeng Ttaeng Ttaeng"). He later began a solo career.
