ILLIT's Wonhee Is Confident: "It's My Favorite Yet"

K-pop girl group ILLIT is back with another catchy song following the success of "It's Me."

The group held a media showcase on Oct. 26 at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Seoul's Hannam neighborhood to mark the release of its fifth EP, "BREAK EVEN."

The album marks ILLIT's first comeback since "It's Me," released in April. The song topped domestic music charts in South Korea.

"Since this comeback follows 'It's Me,' which received so much love, we wanted to show an even better side of ourselves," member Wonhee said. "We prepared this album with conviction and confidence. I could call it my favorite album."

ILLIT debuted in March 2024 and is now releasing its fifth EP.

"It feels amazing and exciting that we're already releasing our fifth EP," member Minju said.

The title track, "You're Under Arrest," is an electro-pop song featuring upbeat whistle sounds and sharp synths. It frames the experience of mistaking someone's habitual kindness for romantic interest as an arrest operation. The gestures that caused the misunderstanding become "evidence of a crime," as the narrator resolves to stop investing her feelings and time in that person.

"The song has such a clear concept, so we paid attention to every detail, from recording to choreography," member Yunah said. "I'm happy we get to show something new with every comeback."

Yunah also described the track as a song that makes the catchiness of ILLIT's music even stronger.

Fans got an early look at the song during the group's encore concerts at INSPIRE Arena in Incheon on Oct. 17 and 18.

"We performed the title track ahead of the comeback at our recent encore shows. The enthusiastic response made us look forward to this comeback even more," member Iroha said. "Through these promotions, we'll show how ILLIT has grown another step."

ILLIT's fifth EP, "BREAK EVEN," arrives on music platforms on Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. KST.
