Lee Hong-gi has spent more than two decades in the public eye, first as a child actor and then as the voice that anchors one of South Korea's longest-running rock bands. As the leader, main vocalist, and visual of FTISLAND, he has built a career that sits at the intersection of performance and persona — a combination that keeps him visible well beyond the group's recording schedule.

Debut and early career

His professional life began in 2002, when he made his first appearance as a child actor, giving him a foothold in the entertainment industry several years before FTISLAND's formation. That early stage experience — the discipline of live performance, the instinct for a room — would later read clearly in his work as a frontman. By the time he stepped into the lead vocalist role with FTISLAND, he was already a practiced performer rather than a newcomer finding his footing.
