Hyun (현)

Among the vocalists who built their careers within the Big Hit Music ecosystem before that label became synonymous with BTS, Lee Hyun occupies a quiet but durable position. Known by his stage name Hyun, he has worked across two group configurations — the ballad group 8Eight and the duo Homme — while remaining a consistent presence in Korean contemporary R&B.

Debut & Formation

Hyun's work with 8Eight established him early as a vocalist suited to emotionally direct, ballad-driven material, a quality that would define his output across both of his group affiliations. He later joined Homme alongside a fellow vocalist, serving as the group's leader and main vocalist — roles that reflect both his seniority and the centrality of his voice to the duo's sound.

Music & Discography

Homme's music sits at the intersection of K-pop structure and contemporary R&B sensibility, leaning on vocal interplay rather than production maximalism. Hyun's contribution to the BTS World: Original Soundtrack in 2019 marked a notable moment of crossover visibility, placing his voice within one of the highest-profile multimedia projects of that year — a mobile game tie-in that drew global attention given BTS's standing at the time.

Activities

Hyun has maintained affiliations with both Big Hit Music and Source Music, positioning him within a label infrastructure that, particularly through the late 2010s and into the 2020s, expanded its international reach considerably. His continued membership in Homme represents an ongoing creative commitment to the duo format.
