Hyungshik (형식)

Park Hyung Sik built his public profile across two distinct lanes — group idol and television actor — and has sustained a career in both with enough consistency to draw dedicated fan followings in South Korea and Japan. Known professionally as Hyungshik, he debuted as part of the nine-member boy group ZE:A (제국의아이들), serving as its main vocalist and visual, before establishing himself as a leading man in Korean drama.

Debut & Formation

ZE:A — whose name stands for Children of Empire — launched under Star Empire Entertainment, and Hyungshik joined the group as one of its vocalists from the outset, contributing to a lineup that navigated the competitive mid-generation idol landscape of the early 2010s. His height and stage presence kept him among the group's more visible figures, a role formalized by his designation as visual alongside his vocal duties.

Activities

While his group work provided the foundation, Hyungshik's trajectory shifted substantially as he moved into acting. Television drama became his primary arena, and by the mid-2010s he had accumulated leading-role credits that elevated his profile beyond the idol circuit. That dual standing — idol-rooted but drama-driven — has defined much of his career since.

In early 2026, that momentum continued. He concluded a Japan fan meeting titled The Next Page, held to mark the second anniversary of his fan club, before announcing his casting as the male lead in the upcoming drama A Properly Framed Romance alongside actress Park Gyu-young. The announcement signaled another step in an acting career that has kept him consistently in production.
