Jang Hyun-seung first came to wider attention as the lead vocalist of BEAST, the six-member group that became one of Cube Entertainment's flagship acts following their 2009 debut. After nearly seven years with the group, he departed in 2016 to pursue a solo path — a transition that has defined the second chapter of his career, including a public reckoning with his own professional conduct that resurfaced in early 2026.

BEAST debuted in October 2009 under Cube Entertainment, and Hyunseung served as the group's lead vocalist throughout its run.
