Jina Son (진아 손)

A third-place finish on SBS K-pop Star Season 3 gave Son Jinah — performing under the name Jina Son — an early national platform before she had released a single note of original material. That audition run, which concluded before her professional debut, established the vocal identity she would carry into her solo career when she officially launched on September 19, 2016.

Debut & Formation

Son Jinah was born on July 18, 1997, and came to wider attention through her run on the competitive SBS audition series K-pop Star, a program that over its seasons served as a launchpad for several acts who went on to sustained careers. Placing third in its third season gave her a degree of public recognition that preceded her formal entry into the industry. Prior to her solo work, she was also a member of Blue Fox, though the details of that group's activity remain limited in the public record.

Activities

By early 2026, Son had developed a following substantial enough to support a solo concert booking, with an April 2026 live performance announced for her. Coverage at the time described her as a solo artist noted for a distinctive vocal color — a characterization that points to the kind of tone-first artistry that tends to define longevity for singers who build audiences outside the idol-group framework.
