As the founding leader of After School, Kahi — born Park Ji Young — helped establish one of Pledis Entertainment's most distinctively styled acts during the group's active years in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Occupying the roles of leader, lead vocalist, main rapper, main dancer, and center simultaneously, she carried an unusually broad performance mandate within the group's structure.
Debut & Formation
After School operated under Pledis Entertainment with a rotating membership concept that drew considerable attention for its unconventional approach to idol group dynamics. Within that lineup, Kahi functioned as the anchor, her dance background lending the group a grounded technical presence. She also participated in the subunit A.S. Red & Blue and, separately, appeared in the project group Mamadol (M.M.D) in a main dancer capacity.
Music & Discography
Beyond her group work, Kahi appeared on "Happy Pledis 2011," a 2011 single released under the Pledis Entertainment label umbrella. Her solo extended play *Who Are You?* followed in 2013. Her credited roles as songwriter and choreographer suggest involvement in the creative process that extended beyond performance, though the specifics of those contributions are not detailed in available material. Most recently she has been affiliated with S.Blush.
