Kim Tae-rae first came to wider attention through BOYS PLANET, Mnet's 2023 survival competition that drew contestants from across Asia. Finishing sixth in the final vote, he secured a place in Zerobaseone (제로베이스원), the nine-member group formed from the show's top finishers and launched under WAKEONE Entertainment.
Debut & Formation
Zerobaseone debuted in the summer of 2023, with Kim Tae-rae among its founding members following his sixth-place finish on BOYS PLANET. The competition format, which incorporated both Korean and international trainees, gave the group a multinational profile from the outset. Kim's placement in the top tier of a nationally broadcast survival program established his visibility before the group had released a single note.
Activities
Kim Tae-rae has continued to build his profile on multiple fronts since Zerobaseone's debut. In early 2026, following a contract renewal with WAKEONE — a CJ affiliate — he joined fellow members Seok Matthew and Park Gun-wook in recording an OST for a tvN variety program, signaling that the group's activity remains active into its post-debut phase. He is also a member of TOENZE, a separate project group, broadening his work beyond the Zerobaseone framework.
