KIM WOOSEOK (Formerly known as Wooshin (우신)) (김우석)

Kim Woo-seok built his public profile across two distinct chapters of the Korean entertainment industry — first as a member of the idol groups UP10TION and the short-lived competition-show outfit X1, then as a solo artist and actor navigating the space between music and drama. Known during his UP10TION years under the stage name Wooshin, he later promoted under his given name as both his musical and acting careers developed independently.

Debut & Formation

Kim Woo-seok debuted as a member of UP10TION, a boy group formed under TOP Media, before gaining wider national visibility through *Produce X 101*, Mnet's 2019 survival competition series. He placed among the finalists who formed X1, a project group whose run was cut short following the vote-manipulation controversy that engulfed the *Produce* franchise. After X1's disbandment in early 2020, he resumed activity as a solo artist under his legal name, stepping away from the Wooshin stage name he had used within UP10TION.

Music & Activities

His solo work carried forward the performance-driven aesthetic associated with his idol background. Before his mandatory military service, he released music for his fanbase, and in a gesture marking his imminent discharge, he made available a self-composed song — an indication of creative involvement beyond performance alone.

Alongside his recording activities, Kim Woo-seok expanded into acting, appearing in the drama *Doctor Shin*, penned by writer Im Sung-han. His role placed him in a production that drew attention for its character dynamics, adding a screen credit to a career that had previously centered on the stage and music releases.

Return & Recent Standing

Kim Woo-seok completed his mandatory military service and announced his full return to professional activities in mid-2026, releasing new profile photographs that signaled a repositioning toward a more mature public image. His personal life also became part of the public record: a relationship with actress Kang Na-eon, disclosed publicly and entering its third year around the time of his discharge, was covered by Korean entertainment media without apparent disruption to either party's professional standing.

The combination of a solo discography, a drama acting credit, a self-composed discharge single, and an ongoing public relationship with a fellow entertainer marks Kim Woo-seok's post-military reentry as that of an artist with intentions that span both music and screen work.
