Mimi (미미)

Within Oh My Girl, the seven-member group that established itself as one of WM Entertainment's flagship acts in the K-pop landscape, Mimi occupies an unusually layered position — serving simultaneously as main rapper, main dancer, and sub-vocalist, a combination of roles that places her at the center of the group's live performances and sonic identity.

Debut & Formation

Born Kim Mi-hyun on May 1, 1995, Mimi debuted alongside Oh My Girl when the group launched under WM Entertainment. As the act built its reputation over subsequent years, Mimi's contributions on the rap and performance side became a consistent through-line in the group's output, her distinctive vocal tone setting her apart within a lineup that leans heavily into melodic delivery.

Music & Activities

Mimi handles the rap-driven passages that texture Oh My Girl's discography, while her background as main dancer makes her a focal point in the group's choreography. That dual responsibility — carrying both the rhythmic and physical vocabulary of the group's stage presence — has drawn attention from fans who follow her as a performer in her own right. She is also a member of MNZ, a separate project unit, which extends her activity beyond the main group.

In early 2026, Mimi appeared on the entertainment program *Cheonhajebbang* in a judging capacity, an appearance that generated public discussion when a businessman on the show directed pointed criticism at her judgment, questioning her qualifications for the role. The moment drew audience reactions and kept her name in the news cycle, though the episode was notable primarily as a measure of her expanding visibility on variety and entertainment formats rather than a reflection of her musical work.

Her appeal, as consistent coverage has noted, rests on the combination of a recognizable vocal tone and strong dance technique — qualities that make her a dependable anchor in Oh My Girl's performances across both studio recordings and live settings.
