Seola — born Kim Hyun Jung and a member of the Starship Entertainment girl group WJSN (Cosmic Girls) — has built her standing within one of fourth-generation K-pop's more structurally distinctive acts, serving as lead vocalist in the full ensemble while stepping into the main vocalist role in the unit WJSN THE BLACK.
Role within WJSN
WJSN is a large-format group that has operated across multiple subunits, allowing individual members to develop more defined artistic identities within a smaller configuration. Seola's participation in WJSN THE BLACK — a unit with a markedly darker, more mature sonic direction than the main group — placed her vocal output in a different register from WJSN's characteristically brighter pop work, and elevated her credited position from lead to main vocalist. She is also noted as a member of the WJSN subunit WJMK.
Activities
Beyond her group work, Seola has pursued activities as an actor and songwriter, extending her professional scope beyond performance alone. She remains active under Starship Entertainment across WJSN's ongoing schedule.
