Seolhyun (설현)

Kim Seol Hyun built her public profile from two directions at once — as the center and face of FNC Entertainment's AOA during the group's mid-2010s commercial peak, and as a screen actress whose television work carried her name well past the group's active years. Known professionally as Seolhyun, she has sustained a visible presence in Korean entertainment across more than a decade.

Debut and time with AOA

Seolhyun debuted in 2012 as a member of AOA (에이오에이), a mixed idol group that operated simultaneously as a band unit and a performance-focused vocal-and-dance lineup. Within the group she held the roles of lead dancer, vocalist, center, and face of the group — a combination that placed her in the visual and performance foreground of the act's promotional activities. She was also a member of AOA White, a sub-unit in which she served as lead vocalist and lead dancer alongside the face-of-the-group designation.

AOA's commercial rise through the mid-2010s made the group one of the more recognizable acts in the girl-group landscape of that period, and Seolhyun's visibility within it extended into a parallel career in advertising and acting that outlasted the group's collective momentum. She has since departed from AOA and is currently active as an individual actress.

Acting career

Seolhyun's transition from idol to working actress solidified over several years of television drama appearances. Her most recent confirmed project, as of mid-2026, is a special appearance in JTBC's "Human X Gumiho", a drama headlined by Jun Ji-hyun and Ji Chang-wook. In the production, she plays a character in a contractual relationship with Choi Seok, the director of Ohseong Museum and a shaman — a role described at the time of casting as a strong visual fit. The appearance places her alongside two of Korean television's more established names and signals continued engagement with mainstream drama productions.

Public presence

Beyond her acting schedule, Seolhyun maintains an active social media profile that draws consistent audience attention. Posts documenting travel — including a trip to Phu Quoc and a New Zealand vacation in early 2026 — and everyday appearances in Seoul have kept her in Korean entertainment coverage. Coverage has noted her physique and personal style with some regularity, framing her as a figure who has stayed prominent in public conversation independent of any single project.
