Seungyoon (승윤)

Go Seungyoon has built a career that sits at the intersection of idol pop and working-musician credibility. Known primarily as a vocalist and guitarist in Winner, the YG Entertainment group that emerged from the 2014 reality competition *WIN: Who Is Next*, Seungyoon has extended his output into solo recordings, theatrical performance, and band-format side projects — a range that reflects his background as a multi-instrumentalist and composer as much as a K-pop frontman.

Formation & Early Career

Seungyoon's path to Winner ran through competitive television, the dominant launching mechanism for YG-affiliated acts in the early 2010s. His instrumental ability — guitar in particular — distinguished him within a label environment more associated with rap-driven acts, and that quality carried through into Winner's musical identity, which leaned toward pop rock textures and live-band arrangements at a time when many contemporaries favored electronic production.

Music & Discography

As a solo artist, Seungyoon released Page in 2021, an album that gathered his work as singer, guitarist, composer, and record producer. The project reflected the multi-role approach that has defined his output outside Winner: writing and producing his own material rather than working strictly within a label's A&R pipeline.

Beyond solo work, Seungyoon is a member of two active ensembles. 5but (오붓) sees him serving as vocalist and synthesizer player, expanding his instrumental range beyond guitar. He is also a member of Monday Off With Bluesy, a project whose name signals the kind of genre lean — toward blues-inflected pop and rock — that has run through his work across formats.

Activities

Alongside recording and group activity, Seungyoon has worked as an actor, adding stage and screen credits to a profile that already spans several musical contexts. His occupation list — singer, guitarist, composer, songwriter, record producer, actor — is less a set of parallel careers than a description of how his output has accumulated across a decade of activity under YG Entertainment and beyond.
