Tak Jaehoon (탁재훈)

Before the variety show appearances and the MC credits, Tak Jaehoon built his name as the main vocalist of Country Kkokko, a group that placed him within South Korea's entertainment landscape in an era when the boundaries between pop, trot-adjacent sounds, and mainstream television were tightly interwoven. Born Bae Sungwoo on July 24, 1968, he has since become one of Korean entertainment's more recognizable crossover figures, moving between music and broadcast media across a career spanning decades.

From the Stage to the Studio

As the main vocalist of Country Kkokko, Tak Jaehoon occupied the most exposed position in the group's performance dynamic, carrying the melodic weight of their material. The group's work situated him in a corner of Korean popular music that drew on folk and trot influences, genres with deep domestic roots that predated the international K-pop wave but continued to command loyal audiences.

A Career Expanded Through Broadcasting

Over time, Tak Jaehoon extended his presence well beyond music, establishing himself as a television personality and MC. His hosting work on programs such as *Groom Class 2* reflects a second chapter that has, in many respects, come to define his public profile as much as his musical origins. On that program, he has demonstrated the candid, self-deprecating register that tends to characterize long-tenured entertainment figures comfortable enough with their image to speak openly — including, in a 2026 episode, reflecting on a past romantic relationship and his own admission that he does not mark anniversaries, a detail his close friend Jin Yi-han framed as evidence of a characteristically tsundere disposition.

Standing

At 57, Tak Jaehoon represents a generation of Korean entertainers whose careers bridged pre-Hallyu domestic pop and the contemporary media environment. His longevity across both music and variety broadcasting places him in a cohort that has sustained relevance not through reinvention so much as through consistent presence and the particular credibility that comes with time in the industry.
