A member of the Modhaus-managed collective tripleS, Yooyeon (Kim Yoo-yeon, born February 9, 2001) came to the group with prior competition experience as part of Surprise, a team formed on the Mnet survival series *My Teenage Girl*, where she performed as a vocalist. Within the tripleS universe she is also affiliated with the sub-unit Acid Angel from Asia.
tripleS operates under an unconventional fan-participatory model developed by Modhaus, in which listeners vote to shape unit configurations and releases — a structure that has drawn attention to the collective as a whole and to its individual members as that roster continues to expand.
