BBGIRLS (브브걸)
Active"Rollin'" arrived in 2017 without fanfare — a modest EP release from a group that had been active for years without finding its moment. Then, four years later, the internet found it. A viral resurgence drove the track into South Korean charts long after its original release, making BBGIRLS one of the more unusual chart comeback stories in recent K-pop memory and drawing a new generation of listeners to a group that had quietly been building a discography since 2011.
Debut & Formation
BBGIRLS launched in 2011 and spent the first stretch of their career developing a sound under circumstances that kept them largely outside the mainstream spotlight. The group's early catalog included the 2016 mini album High Heels and a standalone single, "Deepened," released the same year — the latter would go on to be recognized as one of their representative works alongside "We Ride."
Music & Discography
The 2017 EP Rollin' became the defining artifact of the group's career, though not in the conventional sense. The title track circulated widely on social media years after its release, accumulating streams and chart placements that the original release cycle never produced. That delayed recognition gave the group unusual visibility heading into the 2020s.
The group responded with renewed activity. In 2021, they released the EP Summer Queen and the mini album After 'We Ride', with "Chi Mat Ba Ram" and "We Ride" forming part of that era's output. The following year brought the mini album THANK YOU, and in 2023 the single album One More Time extended the run. Through that period, the group operated under Warner Music Korea.
Members
BBGIRLS currently consists of four members: Eunji, Minyoung, Youjoung, and Yuna. As of early 2026, the group had transitioned to a four-member configuration following the departure of Yujeong, a change that prompted public reflection from at least one member about the group's future direction.
Activities
Yuna, appearing on the variety program *Mysterious 2* in 2026, spoke openly about the uncertainty she felt after more than a decade in the entertainment industry — questioning how long she could sustain a career in the field and raising the possibility of pursuing other paths. A shaman consulted on the program suggested she consider acting, forecasting a favorable outcome. The exchange drew attention less as a career announcement than as an unusually candid look at the pressures facing an artist navigating a long career without a sustained mainstream breakthrough.
