EPEX (이펙스)

EPEX (이펙스) debuted on June 8, 2021 under C9 Entertainment as an eight-member boy group, entering a competitive industry landscape with a conceptual identity built around youth, emotion, and coming-of-age themes. The group's name draws on the idea of an "epilogue" — framing their music as the final, defining chapter of adolescence — a conceit that shaped their early releases and set them apart from acts leaning on more conventional concepts at the time.

Debut & Formation

The group launched with eight members: Wish, Keum, MU, Jeff, Yewang, Ayden, Baekseung, and A-Min. Among them, Yewang carries the main vocalist designation, while Ayden serves as lead rapper and Baekseung as rapper. The lineup brought together performers with varying backgrounds, and the group's fandom was established under the name ZENITH.

One notable pre-debut thread runs through former member Keum Dong-hyun, who had previously appeared on Mnet's *Produce X 101* — a survival program later engulfed in a vote-manipulation controversy that affected multiple contestants. Keum went on to debut with EPEX before eventually departing the group; as of early 2026, he had transitioned into acting and was pursuing independent activities, including international editorial work.

Activities

EPEX built their identity through a series of releases exploring the emotional terrain of youth — uncertainty, longing, rebellion, and resolution. Their conceptual throughline gave their discography a degree of internal consistency relatively uncommon for a group still establishing itself. The group's fandom, ZENITH, developed alongside that output, providing a domestic and international base.

The departure of Keum Dong-hyun marked a structural change for the group. His subsequent pivot to acting and a cover appearance for China's *KINO* magazine in early 2026 indicated a career taking shape independently, while the remaining seven members continued under the EPEX banner.
