Heart of Woman (하트오브우먼)

Heart of Woman arrived in May 2026 carrying an unusual weight for a debut act: a direct creative lineage to Wheesung, the R&B singer whose influence on Korean popular music stretched across two decades before his death. The five-member group launched with a full-length album, Heart Byte : LEGACY, framing their entry not as a fresh start but as a continuation — a deliberate choice that set them apart from the standard K-pop introduction.

Debut and formation

The group debuted on May 27, 2026, with *Heart Byte : LEGACY* as their first release — an ambitious starting point, given that most acts enter the market with a compact EP or single. The album's title signals the dual project the group has taken on: establishing their own identity while honoring the sonic and emotional vocabulary associated with Wheesung. Their name in Korean, 여인의 마음, translates directly as "Heart of Woman," and the group is composed of five members — Ayne, Chaei, Choi Jihyun, Liri, and Liuyin.

Music and approach

The group launched with an explicit commitment to Y2K aesthetics, a reference point that, in the mid-2020s K-pop landscape, signals a taste for early-2000s R&B textures, melodic warmth, and a certain analog softness that contrasts with the more maximalist production trends of the era. The connection to Wheesung roots that orientation in something more specific than nostalgia — his catalog was defined by emotive balladry and slow-burn R&B, and Heart of Woman have indicated their intent to carry that sensibility forward while making it their own. In their own words at debut, the members described a long preparation period and a desire to deliver performances marked by sincerity rather than spectacle.
