Weki Meki (위키미키)

Weki Meki arrived in August 2017 with the debut mini album WEME and its lead single "I Don't Like Your Girlfriend," introducing Fantagio's answer to a mid-generation K-pop landscape hungry for groups that could balance sharp choreography with melodic pop construction. The group built a discography across several years that tracked a gradual tonal evolution, from the bright, youthful energy of their early releases toward more assertive, rhythm-driven material.

Debut and Formation

The group debuted on August 8, 2017 under Fantagio, originally comprising eight members. The structured facts available confirm five current active members — Elly, Lua, Lucy, Rina, and Sei — with the group's earlier, larger configuration reflecting a common industry pattern of lineup adjustment in the years following debut.

Music and Discography

The first chapter of Weki Meki's output leaned into high-energy pop. "I Don't Like Your Girlfriend," the debut single from *WEME*, established a punchy, attitude-forward sound that the group carried into the 2018 releases *Lucky* and the single album *Kiss, Kicks*, the latter paired with "Crush" and "La La La."

By 2019, the group had moved toward a slightly more percussive, groove-centered register. "Picky Picky" served as a notable moment in that shift, and the full-length *Week End LOL* — alongside the track "Tiki-Taka (99%)" — represented the most expansive project of their early career in terms of scope.

The 2020 period brought two releases: the mini album *HIDE and SEEK* and the album *NEW RULES*, titles that together suggested a deliberate repositioning toward harder-edged sonics. The 2021 extended play *I AM ME.* continued that trajectory. Additional releases including the single album *Lock End LOL* and the track "Dazzle Dazzle" rounded out the catalog documented in available records.
