RESCENE Returns to Music Shows as 'LOVE ATTACK' Climbs Melon Chart
K-POP group RESCENE is back on music shows after a nearly two-year gap, thanks to a sudden chart resurgence for a song released in 2024. The five-member group performed their track "LOVE ATTACK" on Mnet's "M Countdown" special stage on Thursday.
"LOVE ATTACK" is the title song from RESCENE's first mini-album, "SCENEDROME," released in August 2024. The group, made up of Wonhee, Liv, Minami, May, and Zena, last appeared on music shows around that period. The "M Countdown" stage marked their first music show performance with the song in roughly two years.
For the comeback stage, RESCENE reworked "LOVE ATTACK" with a gyaru concept, a Japanese street fashion style known for bold makeup and styling. The group also leaned into the moment that brought them back into the spotlight, working in the viral phrase "yaho" mid-performance.
That phrase is the reason any of this is happening. On member Wonhee's personal YouTube channel, "Hello, I'm WONI, Nice to Meet You," member Minami shouted "Geoje, yaho!" in a clip that quickly spread across social media. The line turned into a meme, and attention on the members carried over to their music.
"LOVE ATTACK," released about two years ago, climbed back onto Melon's Top 100 and daily charts. The song reached as high as No. 5, a sharp reversal for a track from a group's debut mini-album.
RESCENE is set to return in July with a remake track.
