MONSTA X's Minhyuk Drops First Solo Single 'Reaching' After 11 Years
MONSTA X's Minhyuk has released his first solo song, 11 years after the group's debut. The track, "Reaching," dropped on Friday at 6 p.m. KST as a digital single, according to his agency Starship Entertainment.
"Reaching" is built around guitar and drums in a modern rock style. Minhyuk's vocals sit on top of that sound, carrying a feeling that is both bright and full of emotion. The song describes the act of moving toward something, or someone, you want to reach.
The track was written, composed, and arranged by singer Ha Hyun Sang. "I wrote it thinking of Minhyuk, who is a brave and kind person," Ha said. "I hoped that feeling would reach him."
Minhyuk first performed "Reaching" live before the release, during the group's ongoing tour "2026 MONSTA X WORLD TOUR [THE X : NEXUS]." He played guitar himself on stage and led the performance with his vocals, drawing a strong response from the audience.
Through his work with MONSTA X, Minhyuk has shown steady vocals and a wide musical range. He has also taken part in writing lyrics for the group and built a separate presence on Korean TV and online content.
MONSTA X is currently meeting fans around the world on its ongoing world tour, even as its members begin to explore solo work. Minhyuk's first single marks one of those steps, turning a tour moment into a proper release of his own.
