Lovelyz's Lee Mi-joo Opens Up About Wanting Kids on New KBS Show

Lovelyz member Lee Mi-joo, 33, says spending time with kids on her new variety show has her thinking about children of her own.

The singer spoke at the online press conference for KBS 2TV's 'Welcome to Sugeun School' on June 24. Comedian Lee Soo-geun, comedian Lim Woo-il, Lee Mi-joo, and producer Lee Won-sik attended the event.

'Welcome to Sugeun School' follows a two-month journey in which children and senior citizens, separated in age by as much as 70 years, share a classroom and try to bridge the gap between generations. Lee Soo-geun, Lim Woo-il, and Lee Mi-joo take on the role of teachers at a rural school, building memories with their students along the way.

Lee Mi-joo opened by saying she was drawn to the project because of her castmates. "I liked the fact that I'd be doing this program with Lee Soo-geun and Lim Woo-il," she said. She added that the show also lined up with a long-held dream. "My original dream was to become a kindergarten teacher. I thought 'Sugeun School' would let me make fun memories with the kids, and I was also looking forward to spending time with the elderly cast members."

She then turned to the idea of motherhood. "The kids were just so adorable," she said. "If other people's children are this lovely, I started wondering how much lovelier my own child would be."

'Welcome to Sugeun School' premieres June 25 at 10 p.m. KST.
