Kim Woo-bin Plugs Wife Shin Min-a's Film 'The Eyes' in Sweet Fan Encounter
Actor Kim Woo-bin is still finding ways to promote his wife Shin Min-a's new film, even during a chance run-in on the street.
The creator couple Eolmi Boobu, made up of Kim Han-eol and Ha Eun-mi, shared the story on social media on Nov. 16, describing how they bumped into the actor by accident.
"We were driving home when we saw someone walking on the other side of the street," they wrote. "Even with a cap on, the physique and aura basically screamed 'Kim Woo-bin.' We turned the car around and drove over, and sure enough, it was him."
The couple said they caught up briefly and were about to say goodbye when Kim delivered a line that stopped them in their tracks.
"Get home safe. And make sure you watch 'Eyes,'" he told them.
"The Eyes" is the film starring his wife, Shin Min-a. "Plugging his wife's movie right up to the last second was so sweet," the couple wrote.
They also shared another warm story from a previous encounter. "It's hard to believe, but we actually had a meal with him once," they wrote. "He was the one who said, 'Let's grab a meal sometime,' and he even booked the restaurant himself. We could tell 100 more stories like this."
The connection between Kim and the couple goes back about four years. Eolmi Boobu once posted a video of themselves watching the tvN drama "Our Blues," in which Kim Han-eol beamed whenever Han Ji-min appeared on screen but kept a straight face when Kim Woo-bin came on. The clip took off online, and Kim himself dropped a comment reading, "That hurts a little."
Kim married Shin last December after a public relationship of more than 10 years. In June, he attended the VIP preview and photo wall event for "Eyes," and later posted video from the film's stage greetings on his own social media, showing steady public support for her work.
Shin has spoken about that support as well. "Even with how busy he is, he made time during shooting to come by, and I was really grateful and reassured," she said in a recent interview.
