Apink's Son Na-eun Says 'Agent Kim Reactivated' Success Feels Surreal
Actress and former Apink member Son Na-eun says the ratings climb for her new drama still catches her off guard. She plays Jung Sang-ah in the SBS Friday-Saturday series "Agent Kim Reactivated," which has become one of the season's breakout hits.
Son appeared on the YouTube channel "YouTube Hajiyoung" in a video posted on the 15th, titled "Kim Boo-jang Special! Son Na-eun: 'My hands were shaking watching Yoon Kyung-ho, Choi Dae-hoon and So Ji-sub act!'"
When host Ha Ji-young asked how she felt about the show's success, Son said the numbers still do not feel real. "I look at the ratings and think, 'Is this actually happening?'" she said. "I search the ratings every day. I keep checking because it doesn't feel real, and it's so surreal watching them go up that I take screenshots too." She added, "Inside I'm thrilled, but I try not to show it on the outside."
Son said she sensed the project's potential from the moment she opened the script. "From the first time I received the script, I felt this was going to be a big production," she recalled. "There were so many people at the script reading. I told myself I had to keep up with the energy of senior actors like So Ji-sub, Yoon Kyung-ho and Choi Dae-hoon, so I walked in bracing myself."
The confidence has paid off. The sixth episode of "Agent Kim Reactivated," which aired on the 11th, drew a nationwide rating of 22.3 percent, according to Nielsen Korea, marking another series high.
