Girls' Generation's HyoRiSoo Meets Its Match: TVXQ's Yunho and His 2-Hour Sleep Plan

Girls' Generation members HYOYEON, YURI and Sooyoung, regrouping as the project unit HyoRiSoo, pushed back hard against a pre-debut schedule drawn up by TVXQ's U-Know Yunho. His plan included meditation at 3 a.m. and only two hours of sleep.

The exchange aired on July 22 in the fourth episode of the YouTube series "Hyo's Level Up," on Hyoyeon's channel. The episode introduced the task force built around HYORISOO ahead of the group's debut stage.

Yunho was brought in as the head of "mental reinforcement," charged with sharpening the trio's focus. He didn't hold back. "Lately, that sense of urgency feels a little weaker," he told them. "It looks like you're getting comfortable with where you are right now." He then listed what he called the three most important things in life: gold, salt and the present. From there, he pulled out a daily schedule he had put together for the group himself.

The plan he walked them through was packed. Meditation at 3 a.m. Two hours of sleep. Every block of the day accounted for.

Yuri asked whether he really expected them to meditate at 3 a.m. Yunho said they needed to think about what kind of stage they wanted to deliver the next day. Hyoyeon fired back that living without overthinking was the best way to live.

Sooyoung looked stunned at the two-hour sleep window. Yunho offered his own routine as a benchmark. "In my case, I sleep exactly four hours," he said. Yuri, unmoved, muttered that it explained why his eyes always looked so hollow. As Yunho kept pressing his case, the three members ran out of comebacks. An on-screen caption declared Yunho the natural enemy of HYORISOO, playing the moment for laughs.

The joke has history. Sooyoung previously went viral for marking a Girls' Generation rehearsal with only the smallest possible movements, and picked up the "Yunho's natural enemy" tag around that time.
