iKON's JU-NE to Enlist in August

iKON member JU-NE is heading into military service. His agency, 143 Entertainment, confirmed the news on July 28.

In its statement, 143 Entertainment said JU-NE will enter a military training center on August 11 to begin his mandatory service as an active-duty soldier. In South Korea, most able-bodied men are required to serve roughly 18 months in the armed forces.

The agency asked fans not to visit the site on the day of enlistment. "Because many soldiers and their families will be present at the training center that day, no separate official event will be held in order to prevent safety incidents," the company said. "We ask fans to refrain from visiting the location."

JU-NE debuted as a member of iKON in 2015. The group is known for hits including "LOVE SCENARIO," "MY TYPE," and "RHYTHM TA."

He stepped out as a solo artist in July 2024 with the EP "MUNG." JU-NE has also built a parallel career as an actor, appearing in dramas such as "Behold, Deborah," "Twinkling Watermelon," and "Marry You."

With JU-NE's enlistment set for August, iKON will move into a quieter stretch as one of its founding members steps away to fulfill his service.
