iKON's Junhoe Shows Off Buzz Cut Before Enlisting Today

iKON member Koo Junhoe(JU-NE) has begun his mandatory military service. The singer entered a South Korean Army boot camp on Aug. 11, where he will complete basic training before serving as an active-duty soldier.

A day before his enlistment, Koo shared a short farewell with fans on social media. He posted a photo of himself with a freshly cropped haircut, saluting the camera. "I'll come back healthy and well," he wrote. Next to Koo Junhoe, iKON member Jung Chan-woo, dressed in military uniform, is also seen saluting.

His agency, 143 Entertainment, had confirmed the enlistment earlier. "On Aug. 11, member Koo Junhoe will enter the training center and fulfill his military duty as an active-duty soldier," the company said.

The label also asked fans to stay away from the site on the day of enlistment. "Because many soldiers and their families gather at the training center on enlistment day, no separate official event will be held to prevent safety incidents," the agency said. "We ask fans to refrain from visiting the site."

Koo debuted in 2015 as a member of iKON, the boy group known for hits including "Love Scenario," "My Type," and "Rhythm Ta." In July 2024, he launched a solo career with the EP "MUNG." He has also built out an acting résumé, appearing in dramas including "Bora! Deborah," "Twinkling Watermelon," and "Marry You."
