Kim Woo-bin Returns to tvN With New Baseball Drama 'Gift'

Actor Kim Woo-bin is heading back to tvN for the first time in four years. He has signed on to star in the network's new drama "Gift," his first project since marrying actor Shin Min-a last year.

Set to air in the second half of 2026, "Gift" is a coming-of-age sports drama. It follows a former professional baseball pitching coach who gains a special ability after an unexpected accident, then takes over as head coach of the worst-ranked high school baseball team in the country. The series is based on a webtoon of the same name by writer Jeong I-ri-i-ri, which ran on Kakao Webtoon.

Kim Woo-bin plays Jung Min-yong, the former pitching coach at the center of the story. After his accident, Jung can recognize a person's baseball talent at a single glance. He walks away from the pro world and takes the coaching job at the last-place high school team, leading the players his own way as he steps into a new chapter of his career.

The role asks Kim Woo-bin to trace Jung's quieter internal battle between raw talent and hard work, and to show how the coach grows alongside his young players.

"Gift" marks the actor's first project since his December 2025 wedding to Shin Min-a. It also brings him back to tvN for the first time since 2022's "Our Blues."

The drama is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2026.
