ASTRO's MJ Steps Out as Singer-Songwriter With First Solo Single 'Right..?'

ASTRO main vocalist MJ is stepping into a new lane as a singer-songwriter with his first solo single.

MJ shared the tracklist on his official social media on the 10th. The single includes two songs: the title track "1~10, 1 Minute Before (Stopped at 9)" and a second track titled "ただいま (I'm Home)."

The title track is the clearest sign of MJ's expanded role behind the scenes. He pitched the concept for the song himself and took part in writing both the lyrics and the music. He also gave fans an early listen at his first solo fan meeting, "The Hangout," held on the 1st.

The second track, "ただいま (I'm Home)," moves in a different direction from the title. It pairs MJ's steady vocals with a warm melody, offering a softer counterpart to the lead song.

MJ was involved throughout the making of the single. He shaped the overall concept and put his name on the lyrics and composition of the title track, sharpening his own musical direction in the process. Known as ASTRO's main vocalist, he is using this first solo release to show a side of his music that sits apart from his group work.

MJ's first single album, Right..?, will be released on Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. KST on various online music platforms.
