RIIZE Hits the Court With Official Theme Song for Japan's Winter Cup 2026
RIIZE is bringing its signature energy to the basketball court, with new song "Rise Over" selected as the official support song for Japan's national high school basketball championship.
According to the Japan Basketball Association on August 17, "Rise Over" will serve as the official support song for the 79th All Japan High School Basketball Championship, better known as "Winter Cup 2026," which will take place in Tokyo from December 23–29.
The collaboration follows RIIZE's growing presence in Japan, where the group has continued to expand its audience through a series of major performances. The group notably became the fastest K-POP boy group to perform at Tokyo Dome, with their youthful energy reportedly catching the attention of local organizers and leading to the Winter Cup collaboration.
RIIZE expressed their hopes that the song will encourage the young athletes competing at the tournament.
"We hope 'Rise Over' can give strength to all the players competing in the Winter Cup," the group said, adding that they hope the track can become a song that gives people courage both inside and outside the arena.
"Rise Over" will appear on RIIZE’s third Japanese single "Sunburst," set for release on August 26. Inspired by the Winter Cup's spirit of taking on new challenges, the fast-paced rock track carries a message of getting back up and continuing forward regardless of the obstacles in the way.
Through its energetic sound and hopeful message, the track is intended not only for the athletes competing in the tournament but also for listeners pursuing their own goals and dreams.
RIIZE will further promote "Sunburst" in Japan with a showcase in Osaka on the day of its release. Tying into the single's summer theme, the group is also launching the "Sunburst Train" campaign, which will see six seaside-connected train lines decorated with artwork from the release through September 4.
