TEMPEST's Hanbin Has "No Fear" as He Makes Debut as First Vietnamese K-POP Soloist
TEMPEST member Hanbin is stepping out on his own for the first time with the release of his debut solo single "No Fear."
Hanbin will release his first digital single on August 24 at 6 p.m. KST, marking his first solo project four years after debuting as a member of TEMPEST.
"No Fear" centers on choosing confidence over fear and moving forward in a direction that feels true to oneself rather than following a predetermined path. The single contains two tracks, "No Fear (Feat. punchnello)" and "Air," with Hanbin participating in the lyrics for both songs.
Title track "No Fear (Feat. punchnello)" is a high-energy dance-pop track designed to capture Hanbin's bright and fearless personality. Rapper punchnello contributed to the lyrics and features on the track, adding another dimension to its energetic sound.
Meanwhile, "Air" shifts toward an EDM-driven sound, carrying the playful message that wherever Hanbin goes can become a festival. Together, the two tracks showcase different sides of the upbeat energy he has become known for.
Ahead of the release, Hanbin gave fans an early taste of his solo music during a special busking event at Everland, where he performed both tracks for the first time.
The project also introduces "HEU'NG HANBIN," a new identity inspired by the Korean concept of heung (흥), referring to a sense of excitement, joy and spirited energy, as well as Hanbin's birth name, Ngo Ngoc Hung. Having carved out his path as the first Vietnamese K-POP idol, Hanbin is now using his first solo release to further highlight his cultural identity and individual musical color.
