ATEEZ's Wooyoung Blasts Hate Commenters: "They Should Die"
K-pop group ATEEZ member Wooyoung delivered a blunt message to people who leave malicious comments online, saying they "should just die."
The remarks came in a video titled "Stealing the CEO's Car to Go Car Camping," posted on the YouTube channel "9Teujjong" on Aug. 26. In the video, Wooyoung and fellow ATEEZ member San went camping and offered advice on concerns submitted by viewers.
When the topic of malicious comments came up, Wooyoung did not hold back. "Just die. People who leave malicious comments should just die," he said.
San noted that such comments are difficult to separate from life as a celebrity, but Wooyoung drew a clear distinction. "Malicious comments and feedback are different," he said.
The conversation then turned to a message from a makeup artist. The viewer said they had styled an idol according to the idol's own request but received hostile comments and direct messages from fans who disliked the look.
San said it was unfair for the makeup artist to take the blame after following the idol's request. Wooyoung suggested discussing the response directly with the artist and proposing a different style. He said he would explain that fans did not appear to favor the current makeup and look for an alternative together.
Wooyoung then returned to his criticism of malicious commenters. "Fundamentally, the people who leave malicious comments should all die. That would solve it," he said.
San agreed, saying, "I fully agree. Feedback is fine, but disparagement, insults and personal attacks are a culture that must disappear."
