Yoo Seung-ho Turns Villain in SBS Drama 'Flex X Cop 2'
Actor Yoo Seung-ho is stepping into a full-fledged villain role in SBS's Friday-Saturday drama "Flex X Cop 2."
On Thursday, the show's team released a new set of stills that highlight the two sides of Yoo Seung-ho's character. He plays Yoo Sung-won, a figure set to raise the tension at the center of the case.
Yoo Sung-won is the youngest son of a major media group and a world-renowned sculptor. As a third-generation chaebol heir, he has been close friends with Jin Yi-soo, played by Ahn Bo-hyun, since childhood. He is also the man that veteran team leader Joo Hye-ra, played by Jung Eun-chae, has quietly suspected and tracked down for years.
In one of the released photos, Yoo Sung-won smiles brightly while holding a bouquet of flowers. In another, he shoots a sharp look at someone off-camera. A separate shot shows him with a wine glass in hand, eyes closed and lost in thought. The shifts in mood and expression only deepen the mystery around what he is really thinking.
Yoo Sung-won had previously made a brief appearance in a scene reuniting with his butler, Hwang Jong-soo, played by Kim Jae-rok. Grinning, he told him, "Hwang, you've gotten old. Did you clean up?" The warm expression clashed with the way he spoke down to the older man, giving the first hint of his real personality.
Yoo Seung-ho moves between an innocent look and a cold stare to bring out both sides of Yoo Sung-won. As a longtime friend of Jin Yi-soo and the target of Joo Hye-ra's investigation, his next moves are set to shape the direction of the case.
"Flex X Cop 2" airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. KST.
