Figure Skating Legend Kim Yuna Debuts Short Haircut in New Marie Claire Photo Shoot
Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yuna, 35, has stepped out with a striking new look. The skater revealed a short haircut that gave her a fresher, younger feel and drew attention to her features.
On August 27, Kim Yuna shared photos from a shoot with the fashion magazine Marie Claire Korea on her social media.
The images show her trading her long hair for a natural, layered short cut. Soft bangs fall lightly over her eyes, while the back keeps a loose, textured shape. The result is a more relaxed mood than fans are used to seeing.
Her skin looks natural in the photos, while her eyes are defined more sharply than usual. It reads as a clear shift from the polished, put-together image she is known for. The shorter hair also makes her look younger than her age, which caught many fans' attention.
The shoot still carries the calm presence Kim Yuna has shown since her competition days. She looks straight into the camera without heavy expressions or dramatic poses, letting the new hairstyle do the talking.
Kim Yuna is South Korea's first Olympic gold medalist in figure skating. She retired from competition after the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. In October 2022, she married Ko Woo-rim, a member of the crossover vocal group Forestella. Ko Woo-rim, who is five years younger than Kim Yuna, enlisted in the Army in November 2023 and completed his mandatory military service in May of last year.
