MAMAMOO's Solar Reveals She Was Hit by Chair Thrown by Stranger in LA
MAMAMOO's Solar has revealed that she was struck by a wooden chair thrown by a stranger while walking in Los Angeles during the group's ongoing world tour.
Solar shared the incident during an Instagram Live on Aug. 31, saying it had happened several days earlier while she was walking with Moonbyul, a hairstylist and two male managers.
According to Solar, a man who had been across the street suddenly approached the group while carrying a wooden chair over his shoulder. He began shouting profanities in English before unexpectedly throwing the chair in Solar's direction.
"He suddenly threw the chair at me, and I got hit," Solar recalled. "I've never experienced anything like this in my life."
Solar stressed that she did not know the man and had no prior interaction with him. The two managers, who had been walking behind the group, quickly stepped forward to intervene, after which the man left the scene.
The sudden encounter left Solar too stunned to react. She said she was so shocked that she could not even scream and initially did not realize she was in pain.
The wooden chair broke after it was thrown, according to Solar, and she later discovered a bruise on her leg. She assured fans that the bruise had since disappeared.
MAMAMOO is currently on its 2026 world tour. The group performed in Los Angeles on Aug. 25 before continuing to San Jose on Aug. 27 and Kent, Washington, on Aug. 30.
