EXO Concert Bookings Flagged as Irregular; SM Cancels Tickets, Blocks Accounts
SM Entertainment is cracking down on suspicious ticket bookings ahead of EXO's upcoming encore concerts in Seoul. The agency said it identified multiple potentially irregular orders during the group's fan club presale and would cancel all of them.
In a statement on Sept. 2, SM Entertainment said it had been monitoring ticket sales for the concerts and found "multiple reservations suspected of having been made through abnormal methods rather than the standard booking process" during the fan club presale on Aug. 27.
Under the anti-scalping policy posted on the ticketing page, all flagged reservations will be canceled and fully refunded without individual notice. The accounts used to make the bookings will also be blocked from purchasing tickets.
Seats made available through the cancellations will go back on sale from 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. KST on Sept. 16. The sale will initially be limited to fan club members who completed presale verification through Melon Ticket's Korean website by Aug. 27.
Only credit cards issued in Korea will be accepted during the additional sale. Bank transfers and cards issued overseas will not be supported.
"We will continue to monitor and take action against irregular ticket bookings and illegal resale so that fans who purchase tickets through proper channels are not put at a disadvantage," SM Entertainment said.
EXO will hold the encore concerts for its sixth tour, "EXO PLANET #6 - EXhOrizon [dot] -," on Nov. 6, 7 and 8 at KSPO DOME in Seoul's Olympic Park.
