Chungha Says Friends Joke She Got 'Face Contouring' After Sharp Change in Appearance

K-pop soloist Chungha addressed the buzz around her changing appearance during a recent radio appearance. The singer, who recently turned 30, said even her close friends have noticed the shift.

Chungha appeared as a guest on KBS Cool FM's "Gabee's Super Radio" on the 2nd. Host Gabee told her that her "face and mood have become calmer," pointing to a clear change in her look. Chungha responded that she thinks she has simply lost her baby fat. "My friends even joked that I got face contouring done. I feel like it's slimmed down too," she said. Gabee agreed, saying, "Your face line does seem different."

Chungha also reflected on how her image has shifted since her debut. When a listener wrote in saying they used to think of her as a grown-up when she first debuted, but later realized she was "just a 21-year-old baby," Chungha looked back on those years. "In my early 20s, people told me I looked like a hamster," she said. "But going into my late 20s, after "I'm Ready" came out, people started saying I looked like a snake." She added, "Maybe it's because of the snake styling in that concept. It feels like my whole face has changed that much."

She also shared her thoughts on her so-called prime years. "I want to be in my 30s more than my 20s," Chungha said. "I haven't lived through all of my 30s yet, so I can't just call this my prime. But it really depends on how you define what a prime is."
