ENHYPEN Extends 'THE SIN : BLISS' Era With New 'Checkmate' Video

K-pop boy group ENHYPEN is extending promotions for its latest album with new visual content. The six-member group released a music video teaser for "Checkmate," a track from its eighth EP, "THE SIN : BLISS," after wrapping up official promotions for the record.

The teaser was released through the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel at midnight KST on Sept. 11. Members Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki are shown dancing to a heavy beat inside an abandoned building.

The performance departs from the precise choreography the group has typically presented. The members use freer, less restrained movements to convey a sense of losing control. Rapid camera movements and the industrial setting reinforce the song's raw atmosphere.

"Checkmate" combines techno beats and industrial sounds to portray the surging energy of lovers pushed to the brink. Its lyrics express their resolve to remain united and refuse to fall apart even when cornered. The repeated word "Check" drives the song forward.

The full music video for "Checkmate" will be released at midnight KST on Sept. 12.

ENHYPEN released "THE SIN : BLISS" last month. The EP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated Sept. 5 and has remained near the top of the chart for two consecutive weeks.

Its title track, "Bloody Paradise," earned a third consecutive win on Mnet's "M Countdown" on Sept. 10. The result brought ENHYPEN's total number of music show trophies for the album to seven.
