Girl group NiziU has picked up a platinum certification in Japan just weeks before its next release in South Korea. The Recording Industry Association of Japan announced on September 10 that the group's second Japanese EP, "GOOD GIRL BUT NOT FOR YOU," released on April 1, had cleared the platinum threshold.

The Japanese trade body awards platinum status to releases with shipments of more than 250,000 copies. The EP is led by the title track "Too Bad."

The certification lands as NiziU prepares to return to the Korean market. The group's agency, JYP Entertainment, used its official social media to announce that NiziU will release its first Korean mini-album, "Sour Grapes," on September 28. The agency has rolled out an introduction video, a poster, and a schedule chart. On the afternoon of September 10, it revealed a digital cover image built around grape and star motifs.

The new record is NiziU's first Korean release in a year and six months, following the second single "LOVE LINE" in March 2025. The group began its Korean activities in October 2023 with the single "Press Play."

"Sour Grapes" drops September 28 at 6 p.m. KST on major music platforms.
