Just Jerk Leader Youngj Mourns Father-in-Law, Reveals Wife's Pregnancy

Youngj, the leader of dance crew Just Jerk, announced the death of his father-in-law and revealed for the first time that his wife is pregnant. The dancer, who led his crew to victory on Mnet's competition series "Street Man Fighter," shared the news in a long social media post and said he will pause all activities to grieve with his family.

Youngj posted the message on the 19th. "Today, my father-in-law passed away after a long battle with illness," he wrote.

He said his father-in-law had been fighting cancer for about two years. During that time, he and his wife had hoped to show him their wedding and the child they are expecting. "But in the end, we could not show him those moments, and my heart aches with regret," he wrote. The post also served as the first public confirmation that his wife is currently pregnant.

Youngj remembered his father-in-law as a source of strength. "Whenever I was tired or struggling, he held me with more warmth than anyone else and always gave me courage," he wrote. "He believed in me through his actions rather than his words, and he was someone who reached out a warm hand every time things got hard."

He also said he will step back from work for now. "Right now, rather than greeting everyone with a smile, I want to stop all my activities for a while and see my father-in-law off with my family," he wrote, adding that he may be hard to reach in the coming days.

Youngj apologized to those affected by his schedule changes. "To everyone who has trusted me, waited for me, and made space for me at meaningful events at home and abroad, I am truly sorry and grateful," he wrote. He said he would return to greet fans soon after spending enough time with his family. He closed the post with, "Father, I loved you so much and I am so thankful."

Youngj married a fellow dancer 13 years his junior in February. His wife, born in 2005, has performed as a member of Just Jerk, the crew he leads.

The couple faced controversy before their marriage over when their relationship began. After allegations that Youngj had dated his wife while she was still a minor, he said their relationship started after she became an adult. "I am sorry for causing confusion for those who have loved me and our team because of our relationship," he said at the time.
