Kim Young-kwang, Chae Soo-bin Sign a 'Charging Contract' in New Netflix Rom-Com

Netflix is heading into fall with an unusual romantic setup. Its new series "Take Charge of My Heart" pairs Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin in a rom-com built around a "charging contract" between a man whose artificial heart battery has run dry and a woman with the power to conduct electricity.

"Take Charge of My Heart" premieres Oct. 9 on Netflix. The show follows a man whose artificial heart battery has run out and a woman with electric abilities who is the only person who can recharge it. Their arrangement, framed as a "charging contract," turns into the kind of forced-proximity romance that has become a reliable setup for a Korean rom-com.

Newly released stills show how their daily lives shift once the contract begins. Baek Ho-rang, played by Kim Young-kwang, has always valued peace of mind. That calm falls apart when his artificial heart battery runs out. The only person who can recharge him is Na Bo-bae, played by Chae Soo-bin.

The connection runs both ways. Na Bo-bae generates an electric current that reaches almost everyone she touches. Baek Ho-rang is the one exception. Because of that, the two agree to a three-month charging contract, and the deal slowly pulls them closer.

The stills lean into that physical setup. In one image, Baek Ho-rang holds Na Bo-bae close while checking his own heart rate. In another, a half-asleep Na Bo-bae reaches for his hand. The photos hint at how a relationship built on required contact could gradually turn into something more.

The show also introduces a set of characters who complicate their growing dynamic. Cha Woo-min plays Ji Eun-ho, a top star working across film, drama, and variety. He is is Na Bo-bae's self-proclaimed No. 1 fan, a younger man whose devotion to her never wavers. His presence adds another layer as Baek Ho-rang and Na Bo-bae begin to grow closer.

Jung Jae-kwang plays Choi Do-yoon, the troublemaker of TS Group.He is Baek Ho-rang's cousin who is constantly clashing with him and never misses a chance to stir up trouble.

Shin Do-hyun takes on Han Seol-hee, a director at Hallim Planning who goes after every goal she sets for herself. When she sets her sights on Baek Ho-rang, she becomes another variable in the central relationship.

Heo Dong-won plays Yoon Jae-ho, Baek Ho-rang's chief secretary. Kim Mi-kyung plays Kong Man-seol, chairwoman of TS Group. Kim Hye-eun plays Baek Kyung-jin, Baek Ho-rang's aunt and the president of TS Hotel.

Yang Hyun-min plays Yeom Min-gyu, a director who hands Na Bo-bae, a lifelong single, the challenge of writing a "serious adult romance." Kim A-young plays Cho Seo-jung, Na Bo-bae's closest friend and keeper of all her secrets. Gong Min-jeung makes a special appearance as Na Ji-hye, Na Bo-bae's older sister and a former Olympic gold medalist in taekwondo.
