Son Ye-jin Hand-Picks Apple Products, Shoes and Perfume for 'The Scandal' Crew

Actress Son Ye-jin gave out a large batch of personal gifts to the crew of her new Netflix series at its wrap party, according to a staff member on the production.

The story surfaced on Netflix Korea's official YouTube channel, which posted two promotional videos for the series "The Scandal" on Sept. 21. The clips featured the show's lead cast Son Ye-jin, Ji Chang-wook and Nana talking about the shoot.

One segment centered on tips submitted by crew members who had worked on the production. "Son Ye-jin dropped a gift bomb at the wrap party," one staff member said, adding that the actress personally selected and purchased a range of items for the team, from Apple products to shoes and perfume. "It was such a happy wrap party."

Son responded with a candid explanation. She said she often struggles to join team dinners and stay in touch with the crew during a shoot, even after years in the industry, because she gets caught up in her own performance.

"I've always felt so grateful to them," she said of the crew. "Everyone gives their absolute best in their respective role. But there wasn't really anything I could do in return. I just thought, maybe they'd be happy if I gave them nice gifts like this."
