Actor Kim Soo-hyun Makes First Korean Public Appearance in 18 Months

Actor Kim Soo-hyun has returned to a Korean public event for the first time in roughly a year and a half. His agency, Gold Medalist, shared behind-the-scenes photos of the appearance on Tuesday.

The agency posted several images on its official social media accounts showing Kim Soo-hyun at the 2026 The Fact Music Awards (TMA). In the photos, the actor wears a black suit and poses both on the awards stage and backstage. He styled the jacket without a shirt underneath, and his more defined jawline stood out compared with earlier appearances.

Kim Soo-hyun smiled at the camera in some shots and looked relaxed backstage in others. After such a long absence, his changed look appearance quickly drew attention.

The actor attended the 2026 The Fact Music Awards, held at Busan Asiad Main Stadium, as a presenter. It was his first official schedule in South Korea in about 18 months.

Kim Soo-hyun stepped away from activities in March of last year after questions arose over the timing of his past relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron. His side has maintained that the relationship began after she reached adulthood. In July, police closed the case without referring it for prosecution, citing insufficient evidence on allegations of violating the Child Welfare Act and making a false accusation. He resumed activities soon after, starting with overseas schedules.
