Kim Ji-won Makes First Solo Variety Appearance on 'You Quiz on the Block'

Actress Kim Ji-won is making her first solo appearance on a variety show, joining tvN's long-running interview show "You Quiz on the Block." The appearance arrives just days before her new drama premieres.

A preview for episode 363 was posted on the show's official YouTube channel on Oct. 1. Along with Kim, the lineup features baseball prospect Ha Hyun-seung and an Asian Games gold medalist.

Kim admitted she was anxious about her first solo variety show appearance since her debut. "I was so nervous that I kept jumping up after lying down to sleep the night before, biting my nails and shaking my legs," she said in the clip.

She also added to the long list of stories fans share about host Yoo Jae-suk. Kim said she wanted to contribute "one more good story to the millions already out there," then recalled a time when Yoo tore open a gift wrapper with his teeth so she could avoid a penalty on set.

The highlight came when Kim recreated a viral line from one of her best-known roles: "I'm not pretending to be pretty, I was just born this way." The lighting director on set broke into a smile, and Yoo drew laughs by mimicking the delivery himself.

Kim's episode of "You Quiz on the Block" airs on Oct. 7 at 8:45 p.m. KST. She also stars as Gye Soo-jung in the new drama "Doctor X: Mafia in White," which premieres on Oct. 9.
