Sonny's Father Puts WAYF BOYS to the Test

K-pop boy group WAYF BOYS will undergo a training session led by soccer coach Son Woong-jung, the father and longtime coach of LAFC forward Son Heung-min.

WAYF BOYS, consisting of Anderson, Andrew, Ryan, Junmyeong and Samuel, released a teaser for its self-produced content series, "World-Class Idol Project," through its official channels on Oct. 5. The clip shows the members taking part in drills under Son's guidance.

Son coached his son from childhood, placing particular emphasis on fundamentals, stamina and repetition.

The teaser opens with the members answering the question, "What if Coach Son were your father?" Some say they would find him intimidating, while others suggest that they might grow closer to him.

The video then cuts to the training session. Son assesses the members' focus and stamina as they work through a series of drills.

"You can't cross the line," he says in one scene. In another, he asks, "You're going onstage with this level of stamina?"

The episode follows WAYF BOYS as the members try soccer drills and learn about basic training principles from Son. It also shows how they respond to his feedback and handle the physical demands of the session.

The full episode of "World-Class Idol Project" will be released on Oct. 6 at 10 p.m. KST through WAYF BOYS' official channel.
