SUNGHANBIN Goes Beyond the ZEROBASEONE Name With Solo Debut Today

K-pop group ZEROBASEONE leader SUNGHANBIN is making his solo album debut three years after debuting with the group. His first EP, "DEAD:ALIVE," arrives on Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. KST.

The eight-track EP explores facing fear, overcoming hardship and breaking personal limits. With "beautiful destruction" as its central theme, the album follows the process of breaking free from a familiar version of oneself to embrace change.

The title track, "UNDEAD," combines powerful guitar riffs, a sweeping choir and dynamic drums for a cinematic sound with pop appeal. Its lyrics express a determination to endure pain and hardship for both oneself and another person. Through a story of repeatedly falling and rising again, the song reflects the album's themes of transformation and transcending one's limits.

The other tracks explore fear, growth, relationships and identity. "Killin' Me" turns pain and fear into forces for growth, while "Insidious" combines strings and disco sounds to express the complex emotions of a relationship one cannot let go of. "3AM" explores freeing a hidden alter ego late at night.

"Bloody Gravity" likens an irresistible attraction to gravity, and "Other Side" explores moving beyond fear and boundaries into an unknown world. "Our Light" expresses heartfelt feelings and promises to fans, while "Steal the Thunder" conveys a determination to rediscover light amid darkness and fear and awaken someone else's world.

Through his vocals, emotional expression and performances reflecting the album's story, SUNGHANBIN aims to establish his musical identity as a solo artist.

At 8 p.m. KST on release day, he will host a "CURATING SESSION" at Layer 11 in Seoul's Mapo district. Combining an exhibition, performances and a talk, the event will introduce the stories behind his first solo album. It will also be livestreamed online.
